I guess it was inevitable that I'd want to write about something related to current movies this year. It's like an itch in a spot that I can't quite reach in order to scratch. Fortunately, my friend Ruth at FlixChatter has been kind enough to accommodate me, so head on over to her blog to read my piece about why I think some comic books shouldn't be made into movies.
I think this may be the first movie review of mine at another website I've mentioned here: I was hired to write a post about the Palestinian film Omar, an Oscar nominee in the Foreign Language Film category, for a site called Student Handouts, a site that provides downloadable teaching materials for schools. In addition, they provide film reviews for teachers who want to use films to supplement their curriculum. My review is here; it's in a much more formal style than you're probably used to from me. Long story short, I liked the movie quite a bit. It was very illuminating.
