The agreement includes over $284 billion for first and second forgivable PPP loans, expanded PPP eligibility for nonprofits and local newspapers, TV and radio broadcasters, key modifications to PPP to serve the smallest businesses and struggling non-profits and better assist independent restaurants, and includes $15 billion in dedicated funding for live venues, independent movie theaters, and cultural institutions. The agreement also includes $20 billion for targeted EIDL Grants which are critical to many smaller businesses on Main Street.” [emphasis added]This has been a crappy year all around, but it’s certainly ending on a positive note.

I think it is a smart move. Money and people have to circulate.
ReplyDeleteI read an article this morning that quoted Tim League of the Alamo Drafthouse saying his competition wasn’t streaming, it was restaurants and clubs and bars. When we get to the other side of this, people are gonna want to go back out after staying at home for so long—I know I will—and when they circulate again, hopefully theaters will still be there.
