Not that I'm sentimental about the place - to be honest, I don't even remember half of the movies I saw there. And I imagine the things I've said about the Lincoln Square AMC could be said about most, if not all, AMCs in the New York area - which is why I prefer smaller neighborhood theaters whenever possible.Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11376065182154885503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4189120682398421108.post-47495218228216485402010-12-17T07:58:59.917-05:002010-12-17T07:58:59.917-05:00I've only lived in NYC for a decade, but I hav...I've only lived in NYC for a decade, but I have to say that I loooooove the AMC at Lincoln Square. I can't even cite a tangible reason for it; just this sense of familiarity I have with this theater, like it has become another home. Though I guess the old-timey artwork certainly helps.

What's funny is that the AMC on 84th Street is a lot closer to where I live, and can be convenient sometimes, but we avoid it most of the time; its selection is much more limited, and...frankly, it's a dump.

And except in rare cases, I don't buy concession food. What's the point in throwing away so much money on such poor quality? My thing is to smuggle in some sandwiches from Food Emporium (or any nearby deli). Or just see movies soon after a regular meal; I gave up the eat-at-the-movies habit as far back as my late teens.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4189120682398421108.post-87232172809405402012010-12-15T20:50:31.192-05:002010-12-15T20:50:31.192-05:00Hi Castor! It's great to have, sure, but you can just as easily do without it. But we've all become manipulated into thinking we need popcorn and soda as part of the movie-watching experience when we really don't.Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11376065182154885503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4189120682398421108.post-78560618696747143752010-12-15T18:25:43.140-05:002010-12-15T18:25:43.140-05:00A whole lot of pictures of Amy Adams there ;) Not ...A whole lot of pictures of Amy Adams there ;) Not that I complain, she is one of my favorite actresses! I hear you about concession prices, it's absolutely insane and I refuse to pay these kind of price ever.Castorhttp://www.anomalousmaterial.com/moviesnoreply@blogger.com
